AI Safety Fund Initial Capitalization

FMF launched its AI Safety Fund in October 2023 with 'over $10M' committed. Corporate funders: Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI (amounts not broken down). Philanthropic co-funders: Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Schmidt Sciences, and Jaan Tallinn. Fund administered by Meridian Institute initially, then FMF directly. Two grant rounds disbursed by end of 2025.
