Notes

OpenAI Foundation (501c3 nonprofit) received ~$130M in actual donations 2016-2019 from founding donors. Original pledge was $1B but only ~$130M was collected. Entity has no equity funding rounds as it is a nonprofit. In October 2025 restructuring, the Foundation received a 26% equity stake (~$130B) in OpenAI Group PBC.
