# William MacAskill

#### Senior Research Fellow

Before joining Forethought, William MacAskill was an Associate Professor of moral philosophy at the University of Oxford. He wrote the books [Doing Good Better](https://www.faber.co.uk/product/9781783350506-doing-good-better/), [Moral Uncertainty](https://www.moraluncertainty.com/), and [What We Owe The Future](https://whatweowethefuture.com/uk/). Will is also the cofounder of [Giving What We Can](https://www.givingwhatwecan.org/), [80,000 Hours](https://80000hours.org/), [Centre for Effective Altruism](https://www.centreforeffectivealtruism.org/) and the [Global Priorities Institute](https://globalprioritiesinstitute.org/).
