  • Initial operations target New York, California, Illinois, and Ohio before expanding nationally in 2026.

_Backed by more than $100 million from Top Industry Stakeholders including Andreessen Horowitz and Greg and Anna Brockman_

WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- A coalition of leading AI companies and innovators today announced the launch of Leading the Future (LTF), a new national political operation committed to ensuring the United States leads the world in AI innovation, development, and governance. LTF's mission is to ensure the United States remains the global leader in AI by advancing a clear, high-level policy agenda at the federal and state levels and serving as the political and policy center of gravity for the AI industry.

AI is already transforming the global economy, and America should lead in advancing a policy governing AI expansion that drives innovation and broad economic growth for working people across the country. Millions of developers are building AI-powered tools and services, as AI helps people work more efficiently and focus on higher-value tasks, with hundreds of millions of consumers using these services each week. Hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in AI-related infrastructure annually. LTF and its affiliated organizations will promote policies that unlock the transformative and economic benefits of AI while opposing efforts that compromise those benefits by unduly constraining or delaying AI development in the United States.

LTF and its affiliated organizations will oppose policies that stifle innovation, enable China to gain global AI superiority, or make it harder to bring AI's benefits into the world, and those who support that agenda.

With more than $100 million in initial funding already committed, LTF is the first comprehensive, bipartisan effort by the AI industry to organize political support and elect pro-innovation candidates at scale. Supporters of the initiative include Andreessen Horowitz, Greg and Anna Brockman, Ron Conway (SV Angel), Joe Lonsdale (8VC), and Perplexity, with other prominent firms and individuals from across the tech and investment sectors expected to join in the coming weeks.

LTF will operate through a structured ecosystem of federal and state Super PACs and 501(c)(4) issue advocacy organizations, giving it maximum flexibility to engage in the 2026 election cycle and beyond.

- The federal and state Super PACs will focus on independent expenditures to support candidates aligned with the pro-AI agenda and ensure America leads the world in AI innovation and oppose those that do not. These efforts will span both primary and general elections, aiming to reshape the political environment around innovation policy.

- The C4 organizations will lead proactive policy development, legislative scorecard productio
