We back exceptional people and ideas with the funding, strategic guidance, and networks they need to steer transformative AI toward beneficial outcomes.

## Why

Theory of Change

We support various high-leverage initiatives for secure and beneficial AI. Our initial focus areas, where we see outside impact opportunities for Astralis and donors include

### Building bridges between the West and Asia

Building global governance structures that enable trustworthy AI innovation through clear mandates and safeguards

For example, we supported the [Safe AI Forum](https://saif.org/) in running the [International Dialogues on AI Safety](https://idais.ai/), now in its fourth session.

### Accelerating European AI safety and progress

Strengthening Europe’s leadership in safe and beneficial AI development while preventing catastrophic risks.

For example, we supported [Langsikt - Centre for Long-Term Policy](https://www.langsikt.no/en) in producing evidence-based recommendations on beneficial AI for Norwegian policymakers.

### Amplifying key messaging on AI risks and opportunities

Informing the public, key stakeholders, and decision-makers on AI progress and risks.

For example, we co-hosted the Nordics AI Safety Summit 2024, convening leaders from philanthropy, nonprofits, government, and AI companies for dialogues on AI safety.

Additionally, we can offer ambitious philanthropists strategic and operational support across their entire philanthropic portfolio.
