**Pichai Sundararajan** (born June 10, 1972), also known as **Sundar Pichai**, is an [Indian](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/India "India")- [American](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americans "Americans") business executive. He was born in [Madurai](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madurai "Madurai"), [Tamil Nadu](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamil_Nadu "Tamil Nadu"), [India](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/India "India").[\[1\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-School_days-1)[\[2\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-2)

Pichai became the [chief executive officer](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_executive_officer "Chief executive officer") (CEO)[\[3\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-3) of [Google](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google "Google") Inc.[\[4\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-4)[\[5\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-siliconindia.com-5)[\[6\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-6) on October 2, 2015.[\[7\]](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai#cite_note-8-K-7) Four years later after being appointed as the CEO of Google, he was made CEO of [Alphabet](https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet_Inc. "Alphabet Inc.") as well which is the parent company of Google.
