The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $40,000 to East Bay Forward via California Renters Legal Advocacy and Education Fund (CaRLA) to support the 2017 national YIMBY conference, which will take place in Oakland, California in July. The conference is named for the "Yes, In My Backyard" movement, which refers to the better-known acronym "NIMBY".
