Notes
[Global Health R&D] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $521,547 over two years to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to support an ongoing trial of community-based rheumatic heart disease (RHD) testing using echocardiography and treatment (registry-based secondary prophylaxis). Led by Dr. Andrea Beaton, this project aims to address a lack of existing RHD detection and treatment infrastructure in the country, where the burden is high but very few people are diagnosed. This falls within our focus area of global health R&D.
