[Human Health and Wellbeing] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $229,080 over three years to the Foundation for Professional Development Fund to support their collaboration with the University of Southern California and the Botswana-Harvard AIDS Institute on genome sequencing for clinical syphilis in southern Africa. This research will help inform efforts to develop a vaccine against syphilis. This is one of three grants we are making to support this collaboration. This falls within our focus area of scientific research, specifically within our interest in advancing human health and wellbeing.
