Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of up to $24,000 to reimburse the Stanford Existential Risk Initiative for copies of Toby Ord's book, The Precipice: Existential Risk and the Future of Humanity, to distribute to attendees at the Stanford Existential Risks Conference. This follows our January 2020 support for the Centre for Effective Altruism's promotion of The Precipice and falls within our focus area of global catastrophic risks.
