[Navigating Transformative AI] Open Philanthropy recommended a gift of $3,390,000 over three years to UC Berkeley to support the creation of a benchmark for assessing AI cyberoffense capabilities. This project, led by Professor Dawn Song, will aim to evaluate LLM capabilities across the full cyber-attack kill chain. This gift was funded via a request for proposals for projects related to improving LLM capability evaluations. This falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
