Notes
[Human Health and Wellbeing] Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $2,500,000 over five years to Osaka University to support research led by Professor Katsuhiko Hayashi on mammalian gametogenesis. Dr. Hayashi is at the forefront of research into methods of causing induced pluripotent stem cells to develop into oocytes in mice; he and his team aim to extend this work to monkeys and humans. This is one of two grants we recently made to support this work. This follows our August 2019 support and falls within our focus area of scientific research, specifically within our interest in advancing human health and wellbeing.
