Funder$500 million, 5-year philanthropic initiative launched August 14, 2025 to build a people-centered future for AI. Jointly led by Omidyar Network and MacArthur Foundation. Founding members include Doris Duke Foundation, Ford Foundation, Lumina Foundation, Kapor Foundation, Mellon Foundation, Mozilla Foundation, Siegel Family Endowment, and David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Five focus areas: democracy, education, humanities and culture, labor and economy, and security. Aligned grantmaking began fall 2025; pooled fund grants planned for 2026. The largest coordinated philanthropic initiative focused on AI and society.
